Islip School District is on alert due to threats

According to Superintendent Dennis O’Hara, the Islip School District is on alert after a threat.

In an email to parents, the superintendent said the threat was against the school district and the Islip community.

The man suspected of making the threat has been identified but not yet located. His photo was shared with school security and other school staff.

Suffolk Earlsays the police the threat was made during a social media exchange between two former high school students.

Police will be present when school resumes Monday and at three Islip home games Thursday.

The Islip School District is asking families to report suspicious activity.
