Stacy Crandell has resigned as Souderton city manager just six months after taking the position.

Crandell, who did not respond to a request for comment, was hired in October to succeed 40-year incumbent Mike Coll. Previously, she served as assistant manager in Montgomery Township, Worcester Township and Doylestown Township.

“Stacy is no longer with Souderton Borough,” Souderton Mayor Dan Yocum said. “Any further questions should be directed to Council President Tracy Burke.”

Burke did not respond to a request for comment.

During her tenure, Crandell reformed the workers’ compensation program, implemented a new website and developed a capital plan. Most notably, she helped pass a 37% property tax increase, a decision that was “not taken lightly” but was “necessary,” she said.

Council accepted Crandell’s resignation during a work session on April 15 and appointed Finance Director Sara Jarrett-Eaton as acting city manager. Jarrett-Eaton previously served as the assistant manager of Emmaus Borough in Lehigh County.

At Montgomery Township, Crandell served as assistant to the township manager from 2012 to 2020 and as public information coordinator from 2007 to 2012, according to her LinkedIn.

Before joining Souderton, Crandell served as assistant township manager in Doylestown Township for 17 months and as assistant township manager in Worcester Township for two years.

Crandell also served as secretary, zoning officer and open records officer for Souderton Borough, according to her LinkedIn.
