Temperature likely to rise in Bihar and higher, heat wave alert sounded in Mumbai, Jharkhand

The northern part of India is plagued by intense heat. Despite the strong winds, the scorching heat continues to increase steadily. There is also a gradual increase in temperature. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi remained four degrees below normal at 19.0 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature remained at the normal level of 37.5 degrees Celsius. Humidity ranged from 92 to 28 percent.

However, in some places the weather is quite pleasant due to light rain showers.

The weather department predicted that a spell of strong winds would continue in the national capital in the coming days. Partly cloudy skies are expected on Thursday and winds will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures can be around 38 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively. After this, there is a chance of rain in some areas on Friday.

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature could rise in most parts of the country on Thursday. Heat wave situation is likely in some parts of Ganga basin in West Bengal, coastal Odisha, interior Karnataka, Jharkhand, Bihar, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Orange alert in Bihar:

The state, including the capital, is currently experiencing extremely hot weather. The scorching heat waves have affected the livelihood of the population. Currently there is no sign of relief. The temperature in Patna reached 40.7 degrees Celsius. The Patna Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for hot days and heat waves at some places in the southern and northern parts including Patna until April.

Weather forecast for Uttarakhand:

The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to remain dry. However, some areas could see a veil of clouds. Partial cloud cover may develop in some areas around Dehradun, which could lead to a rapid rise in temperatures. Partly cloudy conditions are also expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh.

Heat wave warning in Mumbai and Jharkhand:

The weather department has sounded a heat wave alert in Jharkhand and Mumbai. The temperature has crossed the 40 degree mark in 11 districts of Jharkhand. After light rain occurred in several parts of Jharkhand over the past few days, there was a dip in temperatures. However, an increase in mercury levels was again observed.

According to the weather department, the heat wave is likely to engulf several parts of Thane, Raigad districts and the capital Mumbai in Maharashtra from April 27 to 29. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to remain significantly high on April 27 and 28.
