DOT bridge project resolution heads to Assembly | Local news

The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly will decide Thursday what position it will take on a $78 million state bridge replacement project for the Chena Flood Control Project near Eielson Air Force Base.

The Borough Planning Commission voted 5-3 to oppose it on March 23, with a majority of commissioners critical of the Alaska Department of Transportation’s bridge replacement plans. Mayor Bryce Ward is proposing a replacement resolution in support of the project.
