Hezbollah said on Wednesday it fired new rocket attacks across the border after an Israeli strike killed two civilians.

Israeli warplanes meanwhile carried out fourteen airstrikes on the suburbs of Aita al-Shaab and Ramia.

Hezbollah had already fired rockets into northern Israel late on Tuesday “in response” to the civilian deaths.

The group has exchanged fire with the Israeli army almost daily since the start of the war on Gaza.

The country has increased rocket fire at Israeli military bases in recent days.

Hezbollah fighters fired “dozens of Katyusha rockets” at Shomera, an occupied Lebanese border village, and targeted soldiers in Avivim in northern Israel “as part of the response to the Israeli enemy’s attacks on… civilian homes, especially in Hanin’. said in a statement.

On Tuesday, rescue teams said an Israeli attack on a house in the southern village of Hanin killed a woman in her 50s and a girl from the same family.

Hezbollah also targeted the al-Raheb post in northern Israel on Wednesday, while Israeli artillery and tanks shelled the outskirts of Ramia, Beit Leef and Alma al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes had attacked the southern towns of Houla and Rab Tlatine overnight.

At least 380 people, mostly Hezbollah fighters but also 72 civilians, have been killed in Lebanon since October 7, according to an AFP count.

Israel says 11 soldiers and eight civilians have been killed on its side of the border.
